FIRST AID

WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday, August 31; 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.; American Red Cross, 2002 N. Fine Avenue, Fresno.

DESCRIPTION: Learn the skills and knowledge necessary to give care in an emergency, help sustain life and minimize the results of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. The classroom door will be locked 10 minutes prior to the class start. Anyone arriving late will have to reschedule in order to take the class. This workshop is presented by the American Red Cross Central Valley.

COST: $35 per person.

FRESNO COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

WHEN/WHERE: Through Tuesday, August 31; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Fresno County Department of Public Works and Planning, 2220 Tulare Street, 8th Floor, Fresno.

DESCRIPTION: The County of Fresno receives an annual allocation of CDBG grant funds from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. The County makes a portion of these grant funds available to fund public facility and infrastructure improvement activities in its unincorporated communities. Completed grant applications may be mailed to Fresno County Department of Public Works and Planning, Community Development Division, Attn: Community Development Program Manager, 2220 Tulare Street, 6th Floor, Fresno, CA 93721 or hand delivered to the Fresno County Plaza Building, Community Development Office, 2220 Tulare Street, 8th Floor, Fresno, CA.
